Message from the FIP President
The New Year has come and gone and we are all back in business. It took the Board and myself time to review all the files, documents and ongoing actions due to the fact that the Board works in a restricted board setting.
The time of good intentions is also behind us and we now need to implement them. Communication was one of my priorities and this is what I intend to do with a monthly board feedback directly to the delegate members first and then online afterwards. This feedback will followed the monthly board call and committees report. This should allow all to be updated on what your board is doing and what FIP is in. Also notice that FIP can also be followed via the Facebook account.
Also for the committees it was a process who took some time. New committee members needed to be identify and needed to be updated. Of course not all committees are settled but we are proud to say that 2 of them WFHAM and Articles & Bylaws where able to do some outstanding work. All posters and materials for this year’s WFHAM program are available and have been posted on the FIP website.
What is upcoming? In March your FIP President will be in Washington, DC, to address the APMA House of Delegates. While there, I will also meet with Special Olympics International as they are planning to discuss new research and screening techniques. In April I will address be at SOCAP’s Delegate Assembly at their biannual meeting in Bristol, and our Vice President Dr. Matt Garoufalis will be attending the Czech Republic meeting, in Prague.
But of course we are very excited about our upcoming AGM in Athens (Greece). Hotels, logistics and organization is coming together nicely and shortly you will receive the necessary information.
In the same flow, preparations for the next World congress in Montréal is making some good advancements and we are confident that this is moving to a great Congress.
