Kathleen M. Stone D.P.M.

 

As the APMA Past President. She has served in a variety of leadership positions in her decade on the APMA Board of Trustees: chair of the Development, Finance and Membership Committees, as well as liaisons to the American Association of Colleges of Podiatric Medicine, the International Federation of Podiatrists, and Vision 2015 committee.  She has spent time on the Board of Trustees of Podiatry Insurance Company of America, and currently a trustee of the Board of Rosalind Franklin University of Science and Medicine where she serves as chair of the University Health Systems.

 

Beginning her medical career in nursing at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI she returned to her hometown of Detroit and worked at Kern Hospital where she knew that Podiatric medicine would be her career of choice.  Dr. Stone earned her of podiatric medicine degree from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago in 1985; in 2009 she was honored as Scholl Alumni of the Year.  Her residency program took her from the Midwest to Phoenix, Arizona where she has been in private practice at Thunderbird Footcare since 1986.  She is a past President and active member of the American Association of Women Podiatrists as well as an Associate member of the ASPS, AAPPM, ACFAOM, ADA, and APHA.

 

With interview experience in television, print, and online media, Dr. Stone has appeared in a variety of outlets.

 

A past president and career member of the Arizona Podiatric Medical Association, Dr. Stone has been honored in a variety of national publications.  She’s been named one of “Podiatry’s Top 100 Most Influential Podiatrists” by Podiatry Management magazine since 2004.   She was also recognized by Phoenix Magazine in 2008 as one of the area’s top local doctors.  As Past President of APMA and now recently elected as a board member to the FIP,  Dr Stone currently splits her time between her private practice in Arizona and traveling around the world showcasing our profession while reaching out to members and our community healthcare teams.
